ADULT SAILING CLASSES
(ages 16 and up)
Bus transportation is available weekly from 8215 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda MD, for sessions 1-10 at an additional separate $60 charge.
Bus transportation will be available from Vienna/Mclean areas for sessions 2,4,6,8 10 at an additional separate $60 charge. This service is based upon number of students interested.

Come learn to sail along the capital's Potomac River.
Whether you've never sailed before or you are totally comfortable on a boat,
we have a class for you.

Hands-on experience is the best way to learn to sail, so our emphasis is on learning by doing. We will have you out on the water shortly after checking in the first day of class. We follow the US Sailing curriculum and offer a student completion booklet which you may send in to US Sailing for a fee to receive an Official Log book and a hologram sticker. The text "Start Sailing Right" will supplement your course. Books will be available at the time of your class for an additional $15 (purchase is optional). There is some basic paperwork that will need to be completed at the time of your class. Please make sure you bring any pertinent medical documentation the first day. BOTH Youth and Adults.
Calling all kids and adults who have participated in our camps and lessons!! Come on down and practice what you have learned in your sailing camps and lessons. You can sign up to sail on board our sunfish (max 2 people) or flying scots (max 4 people). Just one certified student name is needed to register.
This will be a time for you to sail in the lagoon while staff supervise you from the dock and the safety boat. You can ask questions, we will give you pointers and we will make sure you are safe. (There will not be a staff member available to go on the boat with you-if you want/need a staff member we will need to set up a private lesson for you). You may ask "can I bring someone who has not taken the lessons with me? " Yes, but you need to be completely competent in the boat without their assistance-there is no time for you to teach them. It is a time for you to practice your skills.
Space is limited so sign up early. If the session is full it is a good idea to put yourself on a waiting list-something may open up.

| ADULT BASIC SUNFISH WEEKEND CLASS - $300 |

2-day course on board the classic 14' Sunfish. A fun solo sailor boat - for two if you wish. This class is for beginners who like to start at the very beginning. Be prepared to GET WET and HAVE FUN! 2-six hour sessions (12 hours total)
Class meets 9:30 am to 3:30 pm Saturday and Sunday.

| ADULT BASIC KEELBOAT WEEKEND CLASS - $400 |
|
On board a 25' Catalina. This class is for the experienced day-sailor who is ready for something a little bit bigger. Course covers basic keelboat sailing, including preparation to sail, crew operations, sail theory, leaving and returning to dock or mooring, boat control in confined waters, overboard recovery, and safety. US Sailing certificate is available for an additional $50, which covers Keelboat book, test, answer key, log book and hologram sticker, and US Sailing membership. 2-seven hour sessions (14 hours total)
Class meets 9:30 am to 4:30 pm Saturday and Sunday.
